Award Scheme and Classifications

Scarborough Archers has registered with Archery GB for the Junior Progress Awards Scheme. The award comprises of a rectangular Archery GB badge on a coloured background, indicating increasing proficiency i.e. white, black, blue, red and gold. Qualification is by score only. The archer must shoot 36 arrows in ends of 6 arrows. This may be done in one session or two sessions of 18 arrows. The score required for each badge varies according to the archer’s age and the distance shot. Full details of the scores required can be found on the Archery GB website here.

There is also a senior Progress Awards Scheme. This consists of 3 rankings for recurve, 5 for longbow. These consist of classes from 3rd, 2nd, 1st and 3 more for longbow. Bowman ,Master Bowman and Grand Master Bowman. Scores can be submitted after club competitions, or during practice nights when scoring.
