1st Frostbite of the new season

There was a good turnout for our first Frostbite of the winter. We had 15 competitors including three juniors, for some it was their first competition. The weather was reasonable but very windy, and and all the scores returned were very good. Hopefully we don’t get snow on the ground too soon!

Keeping in touch during lockdown

As you already know, we cannot meet as a club at the moment and the recently announced extension to the lockdown shows that normality will not be returning soon. Keeping in touch is not easy when we are not meeting regularly.

To try to help we have started a couple of initiatives for our club to communicate via the Internet.

Firstly we will be posting links to videos on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Some you may have found before, some may be new. We hope that they are all instructive and will give you something to think about and practise.

They can be found via these links:

We know some of you don’t “do” Facebook and Twitter. Try the Twitter link. You’ll be able to see the videos without having to create an account.

Secondly, we have created a group on Facebook (again, sorry to those that don’t have accounts on Facebook). It’s a place where we can discuss whatever you want to, as long as it’s reasonably archery related. We look forward to hearing from you.

We are also starting to raise funds towards improving our facilities. We have a page on Easy Fundraising. The idea behind it is that you visit the site before doing the online shopping that you would normally do. If they have a link to the retailer that you were going to use, access it through them. That way the club will get a small donation. It’ll not cost you a penny.

We hope these ideas will help you continue to feel very much part of Scarborough Archers.
