Five Scarborian’s represented our club at this shoot, a newly designed course of fifty mainly 3d targets. It took six hours to complete the course which proved to be both cleverly set out and free flowing with some very challenging archery problems.
As usual Stonebow members gave a great welcome to the fifty archers taking part, with bacon sandwiches and a hot drink on arrival, a splendid hot lunch and homemade cakes available throughout the day.
We all shot well; our scores getting better every time we compete in these open shoots; three Scarborians also hit the target from the ‘wasp’ pegs – pegs set a extreme range (‘have a go if you think you’re hard enough’).
A most enjoyable day’s shooting. We drove home very tired but with happy memories… don’t take up field archery if you are sensitive to humorous comments about your shooting from your club mates!
