Ten a.m. start in absolutely perfect shooting conditions for the Regent Archers open field shoot, Bridlington.
Over a period of six hours fifty field archers from clubs throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire completed the course of thirty-six 2D and 3D animal targets.
Five Scarborians represented our club, Colin, Phil., Andy, John and Keith. As usual Regent put on a well organised and welcoming tournament; the course lay-out was cleverly planned with several targets requiring extreme accuracy; a wildcat clinging to the trunk of a tree, others where it was necessary to shoot through a narrow gap in the trees to reach a target, and several targets placed in deceptive positions.
Regent club tea tent, strategically placed, provided a constant supply of drinks and hot food throughout the day as competitors wound their way around the figure of eight course.
Well done Regent – an excellent day.
