Sunday 13th March 2016… five members of Scarborian Field Archers took part in the Stonebow Field Archery Tournament at Thirsk in fine Spring weather. Field archers from many clubs were represented and were greeted with first class hospitality by the home club. Lots of food and drink punctuated the shoot as groups progressed round the course. We even tried the ‘wasp’ shots – a couple of targets set up with pegs at extreme ranges – only one of us managed to hit the target and modesty prevents me from saying who it was.
One lady archer was overheard to say “I’ve had a fab day…” and we all heartily agree with that sentiment. Field archers are a great bunch of people to spend a day with.
