On Saturday eight Scarborian Field Archers were the guests, at Thirsk, of Stonebow Field Archers. The course is set in a mature pine woodland with twenty-eight two and three dimensional targets; some wickedly designed, requiring contorted body poses to get into a shooting position.
We also had to contend with our first experience of shooting at a moving target – a 3D owl cunningly rigged to fly across our shooting stance (we must ‘pinch’ this idea for our own course). The only one of us to hit it was Keith with a magnificent shot a skeet shooter would be proud of.
We offer our thanks to Stonebow for a very enjoyable day with them.
