Yorkshire Award for Roger

Each year the Yorkshire Archery Association accepts nominations for the ‘Yorkshire Award.’ This is awarded to an archer who, in the opinion of the Yorkshire Archery Association committee has done exemplary work for, and within their club. This year Scarborough Archers nominated long serving member Roger Greaves, and were delighted to learn that Roger has been selected to receive the award.
Yorkshire Archery Association president, Mr Andrew Neal, visited Scarborough Archers at Seamer Sports to present the award.  Almost forty club members, family and friends turned out for the presentation, where Roger was also presented with a gift from Scarborough Archers members and a bouquet was presented to Rogers wife, Joyce.

Roger has been a member of Scarborough Archers for over 46 years.  In this time he has represented the club in competitions at the highest level and served on the club committee in almost every position, not least as club coach and chairman.  As coach he has taught and nurtured hundreds of archers over the years and become a good friend to us all. This award is thoroughly deserved.
