Scorton Gold tournament

Three archers represented Scarborough Archers at the Scorton Gold tournament yesterday. Pete Liley, Sarah Monteith and John Naylor travelled to Brompton on Swale to compete for the prizes.

The weather was very mixed and thundery skies presided over the whole day. At many times throughout the day rained poured and  lightning flashed and threatened to call an end to the tournament but everyone shot on and the whole Albion was completed in the end.

Scarborough Archers gained 3rd place in the team event and Sarah won the 2nd place trophy and silver medal with a personal best score of 675 for an Albion round and was only 11 points from winning 1st place.

John shot well too and scored a personal best of 696.

A great day out was had by all despite the atrocious weather conditions.
